Booster Juice is a franchise offering fresh and very healthy juices and smoothies. Friends Dale Wishewan and Jon Amack went on a camping trip. They asked themselves if there was any juice bar in Canada.

At first, people thought that it was a far off idea as Canada is a pretty cold place to be selling cold juices and or even smoothies. He went on and started making his own recipes. Tried it out with friends and neighbours and in 1999, the first Booster Juice was born in Edmonton. Dale and Jon said that it’s creating a culture of fun, energy, health, and also targets parents who want a bright future for their kids.

In just a year, they had 15 locations in Alberta and in 2003 it had 300 locations all over Canada. In late 2003, they opened internationally. They now have 200 locations in North America and they even have branches in Dubai. In 2008, they were in the Entrepreneurs Top 500 franchises.

They have put up a strong menu on health. Matcha Green Tea is for mental alertness, metabolism, and stress reliever. They say that it’s 137 times better than the normal tea because it’s the actual leaves grinded to powder form unlike the other tea that you ttake in only the dissolved particles.

Acai Brazillian Power-Berry has 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes, even higher than pomegranates and Blueberries. Wheatgrass contains 2.5 pounds of green leafy vegetables. They say that it can be good for sore throats and colds sores. They even have boosters than contains different vitamins and minerals depending on what you need. These very healthy options are available in a variety of forms like smoothie, shaker, hot, tetra pack, in a bowl or in a tin can to take home. One booster is free with some drinks too.

Costs and Requirements of associated with running a Booster Juice Franchise

What are the requirements to have this very healthy juice bar on your neighbourhood? You have to have a net worth statement of $300,000 and total liquid assets of $100,000. Total investment is $175,200-$287,200 and a franchise fee of $25,000. There is an on-going royalty fee of 6% and this is for a renewable term agreement of 5-10 years.

What’s included in the franchise package?

It includes support on lease negotiations, architecture and design. They have three options. The traditional that seats 8-12 people, the small traditional that seats 0-9 people and the kiosk. You will be assisted in the building from the ground up. There will be training for two people per location and an on-site training before the opening. Also included is the ongoing marketing and merchandising programs. You will be given the right to use the “Booster Juice System” that they have been proven to work for success.
